Self-Directed Support Development Officers x 2 (21hrs pw and 28hrs pw)
Salary: £27,591 (pro rata)
Location: Glenrothes and home working hybrid
Role:
Are you passionate about helping disabled people to be in charge of their own life? Our SDS Development Officers will work with individuals to assist them with considering their options under the Self-Directed Support legislation. Used to carrying a caseload, you’ll be helping people to understand the options for their social care that are available to them. If they choose to employ their own personal assistants, you’ll help them further by working with them to make this a reality. Your work will likely cover the whole of Fife, though we may divide up the area into patches at a future date.
Warm, kind and approachable, you’ll be a great communicator and you’ll bring a creative, problem solving and “can do” attitude. You’ll be used to working on your own initiative, but also being part of and contributing to, a supportive team. These two posts have been created after a restructuring, which brings together the two parts of our organisation – SDS and Disabled Persons Housing Support – to work in a more integrated way. If you like the idea of being part of and contributing to, an organisation going through change, come and help us be the best we can be in order to provide the best possible service to the people of the Kingdom.
In return, as well as your salary, you’ll get a very generous leave allowance of 43 days pro rata, flexible working arrangements, employers pension contribution of 5% and death in service benefit.
The successful applicants will be subject to PVG checks.

Who We Are |
Disabled Persons Housing Service Fife was established in 1982 to help disabled people in Fife get
housed in the best way for their needs. Enquirers are given information and support from our Housing Officers, including a detailed Housing Options Report. After having decided on how to proceed, people are supported to pursue their choice, including referral to other professionals in order to maximise their points. In 2017, we also took on the role of being the independent organisation that supported people wanting to explore options in how their social care was provided to them. We particularly support people to use Option 1 of the Self-Directed Support legislation to employ and manage their own Personal Assistant/s. These new posts are a result of a restructuring to enable us to deliver both our services in the best way possible. In addition, a new name and new website will also soon be in place. |
