Thank you to everyone who attended our event last week and provided their feedback and comments.

Below you will see the responses to the questions asked and the comments made.

Various comments were made in response to the questions made, here they are.
Do you support a national, Scottish Government, target for ‘accessible’ housing?
FC [Fife Council] have targets for Specific Needs Housing 30%
Ageing population, its essential

Do you agree that more involvement of people with lived experience of disability in access issues (e.g. planning) would be useful?
I also feel professional input is needed e.g. SW OT [Social Work Occupational Therapist]
Without a lived experience it will not deliver the key required outcomes
This would be crucial

Independent, disability led organisations have an important role to play in making sure Self-directed Support is delivered the way it was intended to be:
When doing a mix of properties architects/local authority should ensure property type meet the needs of all.

Independent, disability led organisations have an important role to play in making sure Self-directed Support is delivered the way it was intended to be:
As well as other statutory groups e.g Social Work

There are Inclusive Living Centres throughout Scotland - Is it time for Fife to develop this?
Good idea as long as appropriate 3rd sector/housing and others included
Need to ensure the right mix of staff are involved!! OT's!! [Occupational Therapist]

Additional comments that were made about the day in general.

Holding events like this is useful to raise the awareness of issues that face people with disabilities.  Such events also help to raise the profile of the issues.

Although interesting and informative, too many speakers at one time - a lot of information to take in.

Enjoyed the speakers & made good contacts for the Tenant Participation Team as well as possible articles for Fife Council's Tenants Magazine 'Down Your Street'.

Very interesting.  Can you get a copy of John Mills slides, put them in a DPHS Fife newsletter, this will allow more people to get an overview on whats happening on Housing in Fife.

Was very interesting to have all the different information that was mentioned throughout the day.
Once again, thank you to everyone who was able to attend and the feedback.
We look forward to seeing you at future events.
