We provide full independent *housing information, for disabled people in Fife, assisting them to find the right housing solution that meets their needs.
Established over 21 years ago, Disabled Peoples Housing Service Fife has been for many years, helping people with disabilities to apply for housing from the various providers in Fife. In 2017 we became the main organisation in Fife charged with supporting people interested in employing their own Personal Assistants to help with their social care needs. Currently the SDS (Self Directed Support) team has cases – with varying assistance needs from the team. We support PA employers “in-house” HR service for first time Employers. We can also advise you about adapting your current property no matter what type of property – rented, owned, private let, etc. Landlords are also welcome to use our service to find tenants for their specifically adapted or accessible properties. We will explore all your options with you and provide you with a full, independent, Housing Options Report should you wish so that you have an action plan to work with. SDS Options Fife also has a Facebook Page where latest information and photos are posted. The newest work within the SDS Options Fife is our project around Option 1: where an individual chooses to employ their own support/staff/personal assistant and become an employer. This SDS work is called our Independent Living Project. We offer 1:1 support via our SDS staff; awareness and training via our HR Training Rep; if you want more information about which option to choose then our SDS team members can assist in exploring all the options with you. If you are pretty sure you want to look at Option 1 (employing your own worker/s) then our SDS team will work with you! Zoe Cormack is our HR Rep and assists preparing contracts as well as any other HR issues you may have. . 
Here at DPHS we are led by the experiences of disabled people who have had problems with their housing and/or independent support. We are an independent, user-led charity with a small staff team, and an experienced volunteer Board. *Our housing advice service has been audited by Scottish Government as part of its National Standards programme to ensure quality of advice. |
