We provide full independent *housing information, advice and support for disabled people in Fife, assisting them to find the right housing solution that meets their needs.
We can also advise you about adapting your current property no matter what type of property – rented, owned, private let, etc. Landlords are also welcome to use our service to find tenants for their specifically adapted or accessible properties.
We will explore all your options with you and provide you with a full, independent, Housing Options Report so that you have an action plan to work with.

The newest work within the SDS Options Fife project is our project around Option 1: where an individual chooses to employ their own support/staff/personal assistant and become an employer. This SDS work is called our Independent Living Project. We will be offering 1:1 support via our Independent Living Officer; awareness and training via our HR Training Rep; peer support via our volunteers, and of course if you are still not sure about which option to choose then Claire can assist in exploring all the options with you. If you are pretty sure you want to look at Option 1 (employing your own worker/s) then our Independent Living Officers will work with you!

The SDS Options Fife team is supported by David Birrell Admin Officer/Independent Living Officer and Stefan Brennan Admin Officer/Housing Adviser for the project.
Here at DPHS we are led by the experiences of disabled people who have had problems with their housing and/or independent support. We are an independent, user-led charity with a small staff team, and an experienced volunteer board of directors.
*Our housing advice service has been audited by Scottish Government as part of its National Standards programme to ensure quality of advice.
