DPHS (F) Presentation 22nd February High Valleyfield
I went to High Valleyfield on the 22nd February 07 after being invited by West Fife Community Support Services
to give a presentation to service users and parents. This is the fourth presentation I have given for WFCSS and I have enjoyed
each and everyone.
I am always
made to feel very welcome - thank you for inviting me.
I have to
mention how impressed I am with the professionalism from the staff in dealing with each individual and their family. By the
introduction of Person Centred Planning it was identified that housing was a path that the individual wanted to pursue.
By inviting me at this appropriate time changes in people’s lives can be done smoothly, in stages and in a very person
centred way.

FIFE RIGHTS FORUM
DPHS(F) have recently joined Fife Rights Forum. Our information can
be viewed on the directory and referrals can be made by FRF FORT members. This is an online referral system which assists
customers by cutting down on time and making effective referrals. Certain applications can also be made online - e.g.
Housing Benefits applications. Many thanks to all at FRF for the training and ongoing information sharing events which
are very useful.
NATIONAL STANDARDS FOR HOUSING INFORMATION & ADVICE
DPHS(F) are about to start going through an accreditation system by Communities
Scotland. This will involve the staff and volunteers going through HomePoint training. We welcome this
opportunity which will mean our customers can be better served - it is a quality assurance system which means we build our
capacity to deliver step by step and constantly strive to improve our service for our customers. Both Jackie and Wendy
recently attended training on the new Homestake Scheme which was run by Ownership Options in Scotland. If you'd like
to know more about Homestake please give us a call.

DPHS(F)ON KINGDOM FM
Thanks to everyone at Kingdom FM for assisting us to compile our Community Action Spot which went out at the end of October.
It highlighted the work of the DPHS(Fife) and also told listeners about our Recruitment Event held at St Bryce Kirk on 10th
November.
VOLUNTEER RECRUITMENT EVENT
Many thanks to Board members and staff who worked hard in the run up to this event! Grateful thanks as well to every one
of you who turned up to find out more!
We have had many applications and are in the process of working out which applicants may suit which tasks at DPHS(Fife). We
had too many applicants to be able to accept them all. Our resources and capacity to support volunteers mean we can't invite
everyone to join us. Those whose applications most closely match the volunteer project assistants descriptions have been invited
for interview and induction will start in due course.
We hope to run our Recruitment Event on a regular basis so that more people can have the opportunity to support the important
work of the DPHS in Fife.
CELEBRATION EVENT!
Friday 30th June Marilyn Livingston, MSP "cut
the ribbon" to officially open our office premises. We were joined by representatives from Communities Scotland
HomePoint Project, along with many other representatives from housing associations, and related services.
