OUR LATEST SUCCESS STORIES
Mr. and Mrs. Morham in their new Amenity Cottage After having a stroke the upstairs flat Mrs. Morham lived in was not suitable to meet her
needs.Mr.
Morham: When my wife was in hospital recovering from a stroke it was obvious that our current housing would not meet her needs.
I went to my Local Council Office and through a housing options interview I was asked if I would like to be referred to the
Disabled Persons Housing Service in Fife, I agreed and the Housing Officer did the referral there and then through FORT, I was then contacted by Wendy who explained what she could do for us, she informed
us of housing in our area of choice and of planned new builds, helped with completion of Housing Application forms and constantly
kept in touch with us. Wendy Receiving the referral through FORT makes the application so much quicker, all
the information I require to start working on a customers behalf is with me within a few minutes, I can enter all the details
on to our database which ensures that should we be contacted by a Housing Provider with suitable housing to meet a customers
needs they will always be included in the search. I was contacted by Fife Housing Association in regards to a new development,
they wanted to ensure that the people in most need were not missed for their Amenity Cottages, I referred Mr. and Mrs. Morham
and I was so delighted for them when I heard they had been offered one of the cottages.
Mrs. Morham: I cannot believe how lucky I have been, this has transformed
my life, winning the Lottery would not even feel as good as this. It is better than all the medication I have been taking,
I feel so good and I keep grinning like a Cheshire cat from ear to ear every day. Thank you so much Wendy for helping us through
this difficult time in our life.

Mr. and Mrs. Lindsey
outside their new home with Wendy Riveiro Caseworker DPHS (F)
Due to a change in their life circumstances,
Mr. and Mrs. Lindsay were finding it increasingly difficult to manage in their current housing. Wendy My first contact with Mr. and Mrs.
Lindsey was when I responded to a telephone call from them, it was decided that it would be best if I visited them at their
home to discuss their situation and advice them of their housing options.
Mrs. Lindsay Wendy discussed with us the best way forward and supported
us to complete Housing Application forms. She informed us of housing stock in the areas of our choice and
of new planned developments.
Wendy With all applications in place it was a case of waiting for property becoming void and putting a
note of interest in with the relevant Housing Provider. When a new development was near completion I contacted the Housing
Association to discuss Mr. and Mrs. Lindsey situation, with their FHR in place and their points awarded we all kept our fingers
crossed until Kingdom Housing Association made their decision on who was to be allocated the properties.
Mr. Lindsey Kingdom Housing contacted us to arrange
an interview, we could hardly contain our excitement, and not long after the interview we received a letter informing us we
were being offered a 2 bed cottage. We are both so delighted and cannot say enough about the help and support we received
from the Disabled Persons Housing Service.
8/11/07- Received application, 26/11/07-
Home visit to provide Housing Information and Advice and support to complete application forms. 3/3/08- Discussed referral
with Kingdom Housing Association, 26/5/08 – Interviewed for Amenity Cottage in new development, 9/6/08 – Offered
property.

Fay and her husband had no security of tenure in their previous tenancy and circumstances
left them in a position of having to find alternative suitable housing.
Fay-I contacted the DPHS (F) after finding their details on the internet. I spoke to Wendy (caseworker) and she guided me through the steps that I had to take
to ensure all my chances of being offered suitable housing were maximized.
Wendy- After getting all the appropriate details from Fay and ensuring all applications were in, I referred
her for a void that I knew would meet her needs. I am so glad that they were offered the property.
Fay- When Wendy asked if I would like to be referred for a property, I did
not hesitate. I was interviewed and offered the house; I could not believe my
luck. Thank
You.
Fay was re-housed by Margaret Blackwood Housing Association.

| Robert and Caroline at their New Margaret Blackwood Home |
Caroline and Robert: We contacted DPHS (F) due to a change in our circumstances. The home we were in no longer suited our needs
due to steps at the front door and very limited space for maneuvering a wheelchair or a relator.
Wendy:
Caroline and Robert were supported in completing housing application forms to relevant housing Association. As they wanted to stay within the same area it was very difficult to find any vacant properties.
Caroline and Robert: When Wendy contacted us and asked if we would like to be referred to Margaret Blackwood Housing Association
for mobility flat in the area of our choice. We were very excited and kept everything crossed while we were waiting to hear
if we had been successful.
Wendy: Caroline and Robert were offered
the tenancy from Margaret Blackwood Housing Association and going with them to sign the tenancy agreement and get the keys
from Louise Somerville (Margaret Blackwood),pictured above, felt really good. The look of joy on both of their faces makes my job very worthwhile.
